Jenzabar's Solid Third Quarter Continues
Record-Setting Performance for 2002
CAMBRIDGE, MA-November 19, 2002-In the third quarter
2002, Jenzabar continued on a record-setting course that began in
early 2002. Since the first quarter in which the Company set records
in new contract sales and revenues, Jenzabar continued its success
by posting record profitability and liquidity.
"Our current financial performance clearly demonstrates
that both our strategies and the execution of those strategies are
working," stated Bob Maginn, Jenzabar's Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. "We realized significant year-over-year
gains in quarterly revenue, gross profit/margin, deferred revenue
and in winning new accounts. For the period ending September 30th,
compared with last September, we have more than doubled our cash
liquidity, while reducing our operating expenses by approximately
15%."
Adding to six sales wins gained during the first quarter,
Jenzabar achieved several new sales in the second and third quarters,
contracting with several higher education institutions for enterprise-wide
software solutions. Institutions signing with Jenzabar include Columbia
College Chicago (Chicago, Illinois), Shaw University (Raleigh, North
Carolina), Olin College of Engineering (Needham, Massachusetts),
Claflin University (Orangeburg, South Carolina), Livingstone College
(Salisbury, South Carolina), Robert Morris College (Chicago, Illinois),
East Central University (Ada, Oklahoma), University of Mobile (Mobile,
Alabama), Valley Forge Christian College (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania),
Sinte Gleska University (Rosebud, South Dakota) and the Joint Military
Institute (Washington, D.C.).
Ling Chai, President and Chief Operating Officer,
explained Jenzabar's success with its college and university clients.
"We are providing the software and solutions that our higher
education customers want. Our value proposition is simple-the Internet
plus software systems equals value. We continue to strengthen our
products by offering personalized portal features, strategic data
intelligence with Data Marts and tight integration with databases
and enterprise administrative software."
"Think about an ATM machine," Maginn added.
"When you plug in your card, you get a personalized experience
with the computer system recognizing who you are, what access you
are permitted to have and you are provided with your own personal
information. Colleges and universities need our transformational
software to help them serve their students, who have come to expect
an ATM type of service from the information systems deployed on
campuses. This is exactly what Jenzabar is delivering via Jenzabar's
Internet Campus Solution (JICS)."
