Jenzabar Welcomes Hebrew College to Client Family
Jenzabar's Flexible Software Design Fills a Basic Need for Quick and Easy Information Sharing and Retrieval

CAMBRIDGE, MAMarch 19, 2001–Jenzabar, a leading provider of Internet enterprise software, e-learning solutions, and services to higher education, is pleased to announce that Hebrew College of Brookline, Massachusetts, has chosen Jenzabar's Elite administrative software to meet Hebrew's administrative information processing needs. "We look forward to assisting Hebrew College in obtaining a competitive edge by improving its real-time office communications and data sharing," stated Ling Chai, Jenzabar's Chief Executive Officer. The College purchased Jenzabar's Elite administrative system, which includes applications for admissions, registration, advising, alumni development, and financials. The College also purchased the Elite Campus Web software to allow for Web-based access to administrative information and functions, and the enterprise-reporting module.

Rabbi Nechama Goldberg, Hebrew College's Director of Administration & Finance, looks forward to the improved efficiencies that Jenzabar's software will provide to Hebrew College. "There's an immediate relief that the Jenzabar software will provide–that of extracting database information at a moment's notice, and of getting reports on a timely basis," Goldberg said. Hebrew College is replacing a legacy system developed in-house and an old registration system that required student-by-student hand entry, repeated each registration period. The on-time delivery of information provides critical competitive advantages to the college by increasing productivity, reducing costs, and fostering a strong sense of community.

"We are particularly excited about improving the sharing of information and communication between offices. All of our various departmental data will be available on one shared database, accessible by all offices. We'll have no more transfer of information by 'sneaker-ware,'" Goldberg added, referring to the College's current practice of transferring information between offices on foot.

Dr. Robert M. Kuhn, a senior consultant with Compass Consulting International, Inc., an independent consulting firm that assisted Hebrew College in selecting their new administrative system, described the key factors that drove the College's choice of Jenzabar. One key factor was "the elegance and flexibility of Elite's database design–for example, the provision of an integrated 'people' database, where data about all people associated with the institution are found in one place, as opposed to having separate student, faculty, donor, and vendor databases and losing sight of the relationships between people in them." Another key factor was that "Jenzabar demonstrated a clear understanding of the complex efforts involved in implementing a system on campus. They successfully demonstrated the value of their services, their implementation process, and their ongoing support relationship." Hebrew College chose Jenzabar after a thorough search and proposal process involving several higher education software vendors.
