California, Here We Come!
CAMBRIDGE, MA–June 11, 2001–Just imagine...a
line of covered wagons stretches over a mountain's spine. Astride
a strawberry roan, John Wayne turns in his saddle, waves to the wagons
bathed in a golden evening sun queued behind him, and yells, "Wagons
Ho-o-o-oh!"
While it wasn't...quite...like that, Jenzabar, Inc., opened a new
office in the Golden State this month. The lack of cowhands, pioneers,
muleskinners, desperadoes, gamblers, gunfighters, and dancehall femmes
notwithstanding, the occasion was nonetheless as historically pivotal.
The 19th century pioneers who populated California took their lead
from the 49ers, prospectors who started the famous Gold Rush. Jenzabar
took its lead from the 29 California colleges and universities that
are current Jenzabar clients.
"We not only wanted to provide a solid
presence for more-or-less on-site support of our existing clients,"
Mike Glubke, Jenzabar's VP of Sales and Marketing states, "but
we also wanted a base of operations from which to handle our ongoing
sales initiatives to prospective clients. This new office gives
us just that."
"At first glance, it may appear that we
went to California by way of Canada," Carl Pohrte, a Jenzabar
Account Executive notes, referring to the fact that the new office
is located at 3450 Centrelake Drive (Suite 275) in Ontario (91761).
"We have twenty-nine individual college and university clients
in California," Carl points out.
And, while the opening of this office represents
somewhat of a pioneering effort on Jenzabar's part, rest assured
we will make no effort whatsoever to refer to our current client
base as the California 29ers.
