Virginia Intermont College Selects Jenzabar to Help Manage
Vital Student Data Throughout Student Lifecycle
Campus-Wide Enterprise, Portal, and e-Learning Systems Will Take College to the Next Level
Cambridge, MA — March 8, 2005 – Jenzabar, Inc., a leading e-business and e-learning solutions provider dedicated to higher education, today announced that Virginia Intermont College has purchased its campus-wide enterprise software systems, including an integrated ERP system to dramatically update student administrative and business office systems, a campus portal to connect all constituents 24x7, and an innovative e-learning system that will help the College achieve a new level of student satisfaction.
Virginia Intermont College (VIC), a liberal arts college located in Bristol, VA, will implement one of Jenzabar’s flagship enterprise systems, Jenzabar EX, a user-friendly solution based on Microsoft ® technology that links all administrative offices through a centralized database and provides a full suite of powerful reporting tools and flexible communication tools. Student information systems will help VIC manage data through the entire student lifecycle, from Admissions and Registration through Financial Aid, Student Life, and Advising to Alumni Development. Fully integrated business office systems will streamline administrative tasks in Human Resources, Purchasing, and Finance, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
Through integration with Jenzabar’s ERP system, Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution (JICS) and Jenzabar Learning Management System will provide students, faculty, staff, and alumni with any-time, anywhere access to a full range of academic and administrative information online, including registration, course syllabi and reading lists, grades, and student accounts. In addition, the campus portal and Web-based e-learning system will offer VIC’s constituents a full range of communication tools, including e-mail and calendars, chat rooms, and discussion forums.
The ERP system’s reporting capabilities were a key factor in the decision, according to Dr. Stephen Greiner, president of Virginia Intermont College. “Jenzabar’s systems will allow us to access rich, real-time data from our student administration and business office systems,” Dr. Greiner said. “That access to information is crucial to our strategic planning, and will empower us to make mission-critical decisions much more expeditiously.”
