Keynote Speaker: Vicki Hitzges
JAM 2005 is delighted to present "Corporate Energizer" Vicki Hitzges as our keynote speaker. Vicki has been invited to speak everywhere from New England to New Zealand. She was the first female speaker ever invited to address the California Business Leadership Summit, and has shared the stage with celebrities ranging from ABC Commentator Sam Donaldson to comedian Al Franken to NFL announcer Pat Summerall to Super Bowl coaches Joe Gibbs and Tom Landry. Audiences around the globe have enjoyed Vicki's rich insight and fun, energetic delivery. We look forward to bringing her to our JAM audience in San Diego!

Special Event: JAM Goes to the Zoo
What do you get when you mix sunshine and family-oriented outdoor entertainment? You get the world-famous San Diego Zoo! JAM goes to the Zoo Thursday afternoon, when the conference schedule closes early so attendees can depart for a fun-filled evening. The evening will be highlighted by private exhibits and dinner for Jenzabar guests at 6 p.m. With the park closed to the public, Jenzabar guests will be free to explore the park, aboard a double-decker bus for a guided tour or on your own adventure. Enjoy a private bird’s-eye view of the San Diego evening skyline from the Skyfari Arial Tram, or take a twilight tour of the nocturnal animals awakening from their daylong naps. This exciting day will conclude at 9 p.m., when private coaches return Jenzabar guests to the downtown Marriott Hotel and Marina.

San Diego History
Reminders of San Diego’s Spanish and Mexican heritage fill the region—in architecture and place-names, in distinctive Mexican cuisine, and in a handful of historic buildings in the Old Town. The San Diego area, the birthplace of California, was claimed for Spain by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542. The first European community, Mission Alta California, was established here in 1769, when a small group of settlers and soldiers set up camp on what is now called Presidio Hill. Franciscan Father Junipero Serra, leader of the settlers, celebrated the first Mass here in July of that year, establishing the Mission San Diego de Alcala, the first of the 21 missions built by Spanish friars in California. San Diego, along with the rest of California, ultimately came under Mexican rule before entering the United States as the 31st state in 1850. (Source: www.sandiego.org)
