Help Desk/Systems Administrator
Position Location: Boston, MA

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Jenzabar’s IT Department is looking for a Help Desk/Systems Administrator reporting to the IT Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to equally handle the System Administration and Helpdesk responsibilities of the position. The environment is an Active Directory and Exchange 2003 infrastructure. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must have experience providing onsite as well as remote support. All aspects of this position require excellent customer service.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer, evaluate, log, and prioritize all helpdesk requests in helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Resolve helpdesk tickets or escalate complex issues to appropriate team members.
  • Manage backup and recovery of server environments using BackupExec.
  • Administration of accounts and privileges in Active Directory including Exchange 2003.
  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2000/2003.
  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user computing environment including, but not limited to Windows XP/Vista, Office 2003/2007, Mcafee Anti-Virus.
  • Troubleshoot end user connectivity issues (VPN, RRAS, Remote Desktop).
  • Create and maintain standard laptop/desktop images using Symantec Ghost.
  • Identify and document reoccurring issues and present solutions to management.
  • Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation.
  • Other tasks/projects as assigned by IT Manager.
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field desired, but will consider candidates with equivalent experience.

 EXPERIENCE:
  • 2-3 years Help Desk or 1+ year Systems Administrator experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Experience with any or all of the following a plus:

  • Mac OS X
  • Linux (SUSE, Red Hat)
  • Share Point
  • Systems Management Server
MUST HAVES:
  • Excellent communications skills are a necessity. You must feel comfortable supporting Senior Management, interacting with end users via phone and email, and sharing ideas with the rest of the IT team.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to document procedures.
  • Self motivated individual.
  • Good time management skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work occasional odd hours and weekend as required.
