JAM 2007 Presenter FAQs
Q. How do I enter a Call for Session?
A. The Call for Sessions deadline has passed and we are no longer accepting submissions.
Thank you for your interest.
Q. How do I know if my session has been accepted and I am a confirmed presenter?
A. The Track Coordinator or JAM Conference Planners will notify you by mid-March if your session
has been accepted or not.
Q. Do I have to register for the conference if I am a presenter?
A. Yes, all attendees, including presenters, must register for the JAM conference. If a customer is a solo presenter, they receive one complimentary JAM registration based on meeting all deadlines and presentation criteria set by Jenzabar. If two customers co-present a session, they each receive a discount of half off their registration rate. Again, all deadlines and presentation criteria set by Jenzabar must be met. If a presenter does not meet deadlines or fails to present the accepted session, the attendee’s registration fee will be adjusted to the full registration rate and due upon receipt.
Q. Will session presenters have their expenses paid for?
A. Other than the registration discount offered to presenters as described above, Jenzabar does
not provide assistance with travel or other conference-related expenses.
Q. Is the registration fee transferable to non-presenters?
A. No, registration fee waivers are not transferable to non-presenters.
Q. How long does my presentation have to be?
A. Presenters will be assigned a one-hour timeslot for their session. When preparing your presentation, be mindful that a 60-minute session should last at least 45 minutes, with 10-15
minutes reserved for questions and answers.
Q. How do I modify my Call for Session submission?
A. To modify an existing Call for Session go to the JAM 2007 Web site and select the Modify Existing
Call for Session Submission. You will need to enter your access key that you received in an e-mail
confirmation after you submitted your original Call for Session and click on the submit JAM access
key button. This will take you to a Web page where you have the ability to edit the session paper.
Select the edit button next to the paper you wish to modify, make your changes, and scroll down
to bottom of page and save the changed information by clicking "Update this entry" button.
Q. How and to whom do I submit my presentation and handouts?
A. Presentations must be turned in at JAM to the Information Desk in the Universe Room. If for some reason a presenter did not turn in a presentation, the presentation may be submitted to JAM 2007@jenzabar.net.
Q. How do I label my session presentation and handouts for submissions?
A. Session number and complete title of session. Example: #501 EX Enrollment Track Opening
Q. Is there an official JAM PowerPoint Presentation to use for my session?
A. Yes, the JAM PowerPoint template will be available in January 2007 on the JAM Web site.
Q. What AV can I expect when I arrive in my presentation room?
A. The standard room setup for JAM includes:
· One laptop
· One projection unit with screen that is compatible with the size of the room
· One presenter table
· One wired lavaliere microphone for meeting rooms accommodating more than 75 attendees
· Internet connection provided (IP address will be available one week prior to conference)
Q. Can I bring my own laptop to do my presentation?
A. Connecting your own laptop to the AV systems at the conference is strongly discouraged. All AV equipment is tested and set for the computer in the room. Hooking another computer to the existing system may require adjustments before and after your session, which could also affect the next presenter. If using a different computer is absolutely necessary, please make arrangements well in advance by e-mailing jam2007@jenzabar.net. In any case, if you use your own laptop, we will not be able to support connecting it to the Internet or the JAM LAN.
Q. Will Jenzabar arrange for phone lines, flipcharts, and/or whiteboards in the
presentation rooms?
A. No, these will not be provided.
Q. Will there be someone around to assist me in case of any problems?
A. Yes, Jenzabar IT staff will be available to help with issues. There is a house phone located in each session room. The phone number for Jenzabar IT staff will be posted above each phone. In addition, there will be an IT Help Desk at JAM.
