Belmont Technical College is a competitive standout among the colleges of the Ohio Valley. The St. Clairsville school is one of Ohio’s 24 two-year public community and technical colleges, and enrolls more than 2,000 students per year from the three-county region. At its 2005 commencement, BTC President Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski said, “It seems that no matter where you go in the Ohio Valley, you run into graduates from Belmont Technical College. Some 35,000 residents have either graduated or benefited from the College since we opened our doors in 1971."
To meet the academic, technical, career development, and workforce needs of the whole community, BTC uses a range of delivery systems, including distance learning and community-based education; strives to keep tuition low; and actively helps students find financial aid resources. These priorities and services were all important elements of BTC’s search for a new administrative solution.
Belmont Technical College chose Jenzabar’s Total Campus ManagementSM solution to support its priorities and its expected growth. “This system will provide a major enhancement in student, faculty and administration integration at Belmont Technical College,” said John Koucoumaris, Dean of Administrative Affairs. “We chose Jenzabar because their solutions represent the state-of-the art in innovative campus management systems.” Another significant factor in BTC’s decision was Jenzabar’s expertise in developing and executing on-time, consistently successful system implementations.
BTC will implement Jenzabar EX, along with Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution (JICS) and the Jenzabar Learning Management System (LMS). The seamless integration of Jenzabar’s enterprise resource planning system, campus portal, and Web-based e-learning system will provide applicants, students, faculty, staff, and alumni with any-time, anywhere access to a full range of academic and administrative information online, including registration, course syllabi and reading lists, grades, and student accounts. BTC constituents will also be provided with a full range of communication tools, including e-mail and calendars, chat rooms, and discussion forums.
BTC will further benefit from Jenzabar’s Executive Dashboard, a campus intelligence solution that transforms raw data into clear, real-time information delivered directly to the desktop. BTC’s Executive Dashboard solution will be custom-designed to let administrators actively monitor and manage the College’s unique processes, priorities, and objectives that are vital to its success.
